A stuntwoman of the movie 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' has sued the producers for their failure to pay the medical bills of her injury caused during a shoot, as previously promised. Olivia Jackson, who plays the stunts of actor Milia Jovovich in the movie, lost her left arm while performing a stunt in 2015 in South Africa for the character Alice. The producers had promised to bear the cost of injury however, no support was given to Jackson. Reportedly, the 38-year old stuntwoman was misinformed about her medical insurance cover for her injuries and claimed only $33,000 was paid out.

Olivia Jackson's injury

Allegedly, the director, Paul Anderson changed the scene of the movie last minute. Initially, it was a fight scene but the change included had Jackson ride a dangerous and complex motorbike in adverse weather. Jackson had to ride the bike at the speed 40 miles per hour towards the camera. The camera was supposed to be lifted up by the crane before she reached it. However, the changes that Anderson made included the crane to be lifted a second later on the final run. These “last minute” changes resulted in Jackson's forearm bone being obliterated. It tore her cheek flesh which exposed her teeth. Other injuries also include brain swelling, punctured lungs, dozens of broken bones, and a severed vital neck artery. The most life-changing result of the accident in 2015, was that Olivia Jackson's left arm was amputated.
