 Ryan Reynolds all set to star in 20th Century Fox's upcoming sci-fi film 'Free Guy'

Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds is roped for 20th Century Fox's upcoming sci-fi film 'Free Guy'. The project will be helmed by 'Night at the Museum' director Shawn Levy.

Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds was roped in for 20th Century Fox's upcoming sci-fi film 'Free Guy'. As per media reports, the 'Deadpool' star will be featured in the lead role of the upcoming venture which will be helmed by 'Night at the Museum' director Shawn Levy. Media reports further state that the fantasy action-comedy drama will be plotted around a man, played by Ryan Reynolds, stuck in his routine, who suddenly discovers that he is he is a character in an action-adventure video game. With the help of an avatar, he tries to prevent the makers of the game from shutting down his world.

The film scripted by Matt Lieberman will be produced by Berlanti Productions’ Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter alongside Reynolds’ Maximum Effort, Levy’s 21 Laps, and Adam Kolbrenner.  As per media reports, Berlanti is in talks to sign a multi-year film deal with 20th Century Fox, where Maximum Effort and 21 Laps also have their deals.

Apart from this, the 41-year-old has quite a few projects in his bag. He will be featured in web streaming giant Netflix's upcoming original film  '6 Underground', where he will reunite with the executive producers of 'Deadpool', Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The film also stars, Dave Franco, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Adria Arjona, Corey Hawkins, Ben Hardy and Lior Raz who joined the cast in July 2018. Mélanie Laurent and Payman Maadi also joined the cast of the film in August 2018. The film marks the first collaboration of the 'X-Men' star and the web streaming giant Netflix. As per reports, the principal photography of the film started on July 30 and is scheduled to release on Netflix in 2019.

The actor is also set to voice the beloved Pokemon mascot in Rob Letterman's Adventure Animation film 'Pokemon: Detective Pikachu' which is scheduled to release on May 10, 2019. He will also be starred in the film which is based on the board game 'Clue'. Moreover, the actor will resume his role as Deadpool in  Drew Goddard's upcoming venture 'X-Force' which is also going to star Zazie Beetz and Josh Brolin.
