Scoob! is the upcoming CGI animated film that will depict the origin story of Scooby-Doo and how he met his friends Shaggy, Fred, Daphne, and Velma. The trailer for the film is already out and is beloved by fans on the internet. The movie is a reboot of the Scooby-Doo franchise and if the film succeeds then it will be the first film in a series and will also supposedly set off a Hanna-Barbera Cinematic Universe. The film has a diverse and talented cast of voice actors that fans have praised for their accurate adaptation of the original voice cast.

The voices behind the faces: The Scoob! Edition

The movie will obviously has Scooby-Doo, the talking Great Dane that loves to eat snacks. The voice talent behind the character of Scoob will be Frank Welker, a talented voice actor with a long and prestigious career. An interesting fact is that Frank Welker's first-ever voice acting role was in the 1969 Scooby-Doo cartoon, where he voiced Fred Jones. Frank will now be making a return to the Scooby franchise, but this time in the role of the titular dog that everyone loves. 

Will Forte, a popular comedian and actor, will be playing the role of Shaggy in the film. Some of Will's most well-known works include Around the World in 80 Days, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Extra Ordinary, and Good Boys. Iain Armitage will be voicing a young Shaggy in the film. 

The voice of Fred will be given by singer and actor Zac Efron. Zac is a highly acclaimed actor who has worked in several popular and well-acclaimed films. Some of his most known works include The Greatest Showman, The Disaster Artist, The Lorax, and 17 Again. Young Fred will be played by Pierce Gagnon.

Gina Rodriguez will be voicing the intelligent but overbearing Velma Dinkley in the film. Gina is most renowned for her role as Jane Villanueva in the satirical romantic drama Jane the Virgin. She even won a Golden Globe Award for her role as Jane in 2015. Gina has also worked as a voice actor in popular animated shows such as Carmen Sandiego and Big Mouth. Ariana Greenblatt will play a young Velma. 

American actress, model and singer, Amanda Michelle Seyfried will be giving the voice for Daphne Blake. Some of her films include Mean Girls, Mamma Mia!, Chloe, and A Million Ways to Die in the West. Young Daphne will be played by Mckenna Grace.

Other credited voice actors include Tracy Morgan as Captain Caveman, Kiersey Clemons as Dee Dee Sykes, Ken Jeong as Dynomutt the Dog Wonder, Mark Wahlberg as Blue Falcon, and Jason Isaacs as Dick Dastardly. The film is set to release on May 15, 2020. The film is directed by Tony Cervone and is likely the first in a series.
