Taylor Swift to return as 'Mega Mentor' on 'The Voice' for season 17

American singer-songwriter and actress Taylor Swift set to join NBC’s singing competition ‘The Voice’ as ‘mega mentor’ for its 17th season starting next month.

American singer, songwriter and actress Taylor Swift is set to join NBC’s singing competition The Voice as ‘mega mentor’ for its 17th season which will start airing next month. She will join the show along with four other mentors Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani. The ‘mega mentor’ role means she will coach everyone at some point. It is basically a return of Taylor Swift who also mentored in season 7 of the singing reality show.

To work across teams

In season 16 finale, the Lover singer-songwriter had also performed her hit single Me! with Brendon Urie. She will help all four coaches in the knockout rounds and provide feedback and suggestions to the contestants. The contestants will be paired with a teammate in those knockout rounds. According to global media, Swift will be on-hand to work with all four coaches and their teams to provide feedback, suggestions, and praise as the artists prepare for their performances.

'The Big Star'

The Voice shared a promotional video on its official Instagram page in which Shelton and Legend can be seen speculating about the new mentor. “I hear we have a mega mentor,” says Legend, to which Shelton replies, “I don’t know who he is, I know it is supposed to be a big star”. 
The video was shared with the caption, “We promise that you’ll never find another Mega Mentor like her. See you soon @taylorswift.” Shelton shared the same video on his Instagram page and wrote, “And our @NBCTheVoice mega mentor is….. @TaylorSwift!!! #TheVoice @johnlegend,”

Numerous awards

Swift, born in Pennsylvania in 1989, has received many awards and accolades till date including 10 Grammy Awards, 23 American Music Awards, and 23 Billboard Music Awards. She also holds the record of winning the most number of American Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards by a female artist.
