Tom Hardy teases fans about Venom 2 with post featuring Carnage

Tom Hardy has teased fans about the inclusion of Carnage in Venom's sequel. Know about the sequel to the 2018 action film which was loved by comic book fans.

Fans of Tom Hardy's Venom-verse were reportedly waiting for some hints about the film's sequel. Iconic comic book villain Venom was given an anti-hero makeover in the 2018 film Venom. Though the film was received poorly by critics, it was appreciated by audience members and fans. The film had reportedly grossed over $ 800 million at the global box-office against a $100 million production budget. Tom Hardy has teased fans hinting at the inclusion of Carnage in the sequel of the film through Instagram. Carnage is a red symbiote which goes against Venom in the original comic books.

The first Venom film ended with Woody Harrelson being introduced in the post-credits scene. Woody is seen teasing the appearance of Carnage in the future as he says the line "There will be Carnage" with red spark shining in his eyes indicating that he will be portraying the role of the iconic comic-book villain. The photo shared by Tom Hardy over Instagram has a cryptic message attached with it which loosely translates to 'We're Venom 2', hence teasing that a sequel is just around the corner.

Venom 2 details

The film is still in its pre-production phase which has not allowed fas to get any information about the sequel. Though the film is scheduled to release in October 2020 there have been speculations that the film will get delayed to early 2021 as the film has not been entirely written yet. Tom Hardy has reportedly signed up for three films as Venom. Harrelson is set to play the role of villain Carnage in the film. Besides this, various creative decisions are being taken to deliver a good sequel. Andy Serkis who is known for his motion-capture work will be directing the film. As per reports, Tom Hardy is working alongside writer Kelly Marcel to pen a good sequel script.
