Will Smith set to bring in some 'Bollywood flavour' in Disney's 'Aladdin', actor reveals conversation with director Guy Ritchie

Seems like Hollywood star Will Smith is smitten by Indian culture, as recent media reports state that the actor had asked his director Guy Ritchie to add a flavor of Bollywood to his forthcoming film 'Aladdin'.

Seems like Hollywood star Will Smith is smitten by Indian culture, as recent media reports state that the actor had asked his director Guy Ritchie to add a flavor of Bollywood to his forthcoming film 'Aladdin'. 

As per reports, during a recent media interaction, the actor, who will be essaying the role of Genie in the upcoming venture opened up about how he was trying to do his 'best Bollywood version' in this movie. He said that there is a 'Prince Ali' sequence in the film where he kept telling his director Guy Ritchie to go full Bollywood and add 'desi tadka' to the Hollywood project.

There had been a huge buzz last year, as the global sensation made a visit to India. The actor who was spotted on the sets of Karan Johar's 'Students of the Year 2' performed in the Bollywood track 'Radha' alongside lead actors Tiger Shroff, Tara Sultania and Ananya Panday. Later, the actor also opened up about his experience shooting for the dance sequel in his show 'Bucket List', and revealed that featuring in a Bollywood film was a dream come true to him. 

 

He was also seen bonding well with Bollywood actors including Ranveer Singh, during his stay in the country. 

Talking about his plans to collaborate for his next Bollywood project, Smith said that he is looking forward to it. 

Previously, the actor has also said that his travel to India has made him experience the country's beautiful colors, people and natural beauty in return adding to his understanding of his true self. He explained how becoming so close to this spiritual land had let him explore the truths of the world.

The thrilling and vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic, 'Aladdin' is in turn based on the Arab-style folktale of the same name from 'One Thousand and One Nights' and its French interpretation by Antoine Galland.

On October, last year, Will Smith unveiled the first poster of 'Aladdin' and revealed that he is all set to take up the role of Genie, the comical Jinn who has the nigh-omnipotent power to grant three wishes to whoever possesses his magic lamp. 

Besides Smith as the larger-than-life Genie, the film also features Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar. Aladdin will release in India on May 24 in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
