After the success of Hitchki, actor Rani Mukerji is returning to the silver screen with Mardaani 2. The movie is the sequel to 2014's hit- Mardaani. The sequel is directed by debutant Gopi Puthran, who had written Mardaani. Famous Critic Taran Adarsh recently posted a still from the sets of Mardaani 2. Mardaani 2's star cast and other details

The makers in a social media post announced their association with Rani Mukerji for Mardaani 2. They divulged details about Rani's character and an outline of the villain. According to the announcement, Rani will be reprising her role of a feisty cop- Shivani Shivaji Roy. She will face a merciless villain, who despises empathy and is evil. Several media reports have suggested the involvement of a few low-profile but heavyweight actors in Mardaani 2.

The shooting of the cop-drama started in March this year with Rani Mukherji. On March 30, 2019 actor Vikram Singh Chauhan posted an image of the clapboard from the sets of Mardaani 2. Vikram is a television actor who has featured in shows like Zee TV's Qubool Hai, Channel V's Million Dollar Girl, among others. Another actor who confirmed working in Mardaani 2 was Shruti Bapna. The actor posted a picture of herself from the sets of the film. The actor has previously worked in movies like The Lunchbox, Gabbar is back, Daddy, among others.

The actors have not divulged any details about their parts in Mardaani 2. But the actors' ecstasy on working with Rani Mukerji and the movie is evident. The shoot of Mardaani 2 is smoothly progressing in Mumbai. The makers are planning to release the movie by the end of the year.
