Gurupurab: Kapil Sharma, Harshdeep Kaur, others star in music video

On the occasion of the 550th Gurupurab, Kapil Sharma, Harshdeep Kaur and others featured in a video to honour Guru Nanak. Sachin Tendulkar shared the video.

Guru Nanak Jayanti this year attained added importance as the birth of first Sikh guru, Guru Nanak, completed 550 years. The special occasion called for a special celebration, and stars came together for a special video. Some of the big names in the world of music, featured in Satguru Nanak Aaye Ne, a track to pay their respects to Guru Nanak.

The track, composed by Harshdeep Kaur, features singers Jaspinder Narula, Neeti Mohan, Richa Sharma, Salim Merchant, Shaan, Shankar Mahadevan, Shekhar Ravjiani, Sukshinder Shinda. Kapil Sharma, who has often expressed his penchant for singing, also joins the singers for the video. He is seen sporting a turban, like Sikhs do, and so is Shekhar Ravjiani. The stars can be seen singing the song with visuals of Gurudwara and Guru Nanak in the background. Be it the diyas or the fireworks, the video is full of light and energy. Harsheep Kaur has also presented the track and she also features in a moment with kids, to write a religious text with paint.

“The biggest names in the music industry have graciously come together to celebrate this historic and epoch-making occasion.  Satguru Nanak Aaye Ne is a humble tribute to the Great Guru Nanak Dev Ji 🙏🏼 Let us all spread Baba Nanak’s message of oneness and peace 🙏🏻,” Harshdeep shared on the video. Earlier, Harshdeep Kaur had met Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and shown her song. At that time, she had also asked her followers to light one diya in honour of Guru Nanak. 

The track was unveiled by Sachin Tendulkar. The legendary cricketer wrote that it was an apt occasion to share a ‘beautiful song’ by his ‘dear friends.’ Kapil Sharma thanked Sachin for his gesture.

Greetings of the day 

Earlier in the day, several celebrities had conveyed their greetings for the 550th Guru Nanak Jayanti. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Today, on the very special occasion of the 550th Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, my greetings to everyone. This is a day to rededicate ourselves to fulfilling Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s dream of a just, inclusive and harmonious society.” Several Bollywood stars like Akshay Kumar and many others too had conveyed their greetings.
