Shillong Chamber Choir’s cover of ‘Eena Meena Deeka’, ‘Chin Chin Chu’ from their Singapore tour is a must watch

Shillong Chamber Choir rendered evergreen classics of Hindi cinema like ‘Chin Chin Chu’ and ‘Eena Meena Deeka’ during their tour to Singapore. The tracks are also interspersed with ‘I Got Rhythm.’

After impressing the biggest names of the country with its spectacular style of music, the Shillong Chamber Choir is now taking their music, rather India’s glorious music, abroad in their own unique way. The popular troupe from Meghalaya rendered evergreen classics of Hindi cinema like ‘Chin Chin Chu’ and ‘Eena Meena Deeka’ during their tour to Singapore. The tracks are also interspersed with another classic, ‘I Got Rhythm.’

The group are seen performing in front of some of the popular places in Singapore like Universal Studios and World Palace. 

The Shillong Chamber Choir is known more for their stage performances, but this is one of their first performances in the music video format, but ace this too with their energy. 

The music group, whose strength lies in their musical co-ordination, is seen mastering it on the streets of Singapore, and in a bit more animated but brilliant style.

The breathtaking merging of the three tracks in their unique style and the vibrant enactment by the singers make it worth every second.

Earlier in the year, the group had recorded a similar medley of AR Rahman’s ‘Tere Bina’ and The Beatles’ ‘Hey Jude’ in London. 

The Shillong Chamber Choir had recently performed at the 20-year-anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas, the accomplishment of the Operation Vijay in the 1999 Kargil War. 

Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had praised their act then by tweeting, “Don’t miss this excellent performance by school children and melodious rendition of Vande Mataram by the Shillong Chamber Choir.”

Their performances at the Republic Media Summit in January were immensely lauded as well.

The Shillong Chamber Choir are winners of the popular ‘India’s Got Talent’ and have won numerous other awards and titles over the course of their career.
