Taylor Swift will perform at AMAs, Big Machine Label releases official statement

Taylor Swift will be performing at the Aerican Music Awards this year. Taylor's former label Big Machine has made an official statement regarding the licenses.

Taylor Swift’s former label Big Machine Records have made a formal statement regarding letting their artists perform and not require any sort of permission to do so. They did not mention Taylor Swift in their statement but they did mention informing Dick Clark Productions regarding providing licenses to all their artists regarding their performance during the award show. Taylor Swift’s former label allows her to perform at AMAs

Taylor Swift accused her former label Big Machine Label Group of not allowing her to have a right over her old music and keeping a hold on her AMA performance and Netflix documentary. This entire controversy has left the music industry divided. Several celebrities have stood up in support of Taylor Swift while some are supporting Scooter Braun and Big Machine Founder Scooter Borchetta.

The Big Machine Label Group has informed Dick Clark Productions that produces and televises the American Music Awards in an official statement. In this official statement Big Machine label has stated that they have granted all the licenses required for their artists’ performances to stream post show and for re-broadcast on mutually approved platforms. The statement by Taylor Swift’s former label Big Machine then pointed out that recording artists do not need label approval for live performances on television or any other live media. Record label approval is only needed for contracted artists’ audio and visual recordings and in determining how those works are distributed.

Taylor's AMA performance

Taylor Swift took to social media a few days ago and explained the whole situation stating she originally planned to perform a medley of her songs during her career spanning performance but Scooter Braun and Scott Brochetta told her that would re-recording her music before she is allowed to do so next year. This social media post, by Taylor Swift also received her a response from her former label Big Machine records that denied all the claims made by Taylor in the post.
