Actresses usually are at the receiving end of trolls for their outfits, and one can only imagine how vicious these netizens could get when an actress does a nude scene. Amala Paul had to face a barrage of online hate for her bold sequence in latest film ‘Aadai.’ Not just that, a politician even filed a complaint with the police, accusing the makers of sending a wrong message to the young minds. The film’s trouble, however, didn’t end at that, and there was a different reason because of which the morning shows on release day, Friday were cancelled. Financial reasons pushed the release of the movie to evening, and even Amala and the makers seemed to take a dig at the society with the latest poster.

While the trolling for Amala had started since the posters of 'Aadai' had come out many months ago, the negative comments further escalated when the teaser featured the actress apparently sitting naked. It heightened further when the trailer showed a glimpse of a kissing scene between her and VJ Ramya.

A politician named Rajeshwari Priya from the Anaithu Makkal Katchi party filed a complaint with the Director General of Police against the makers. She claimed that the though she can’t stall the release since the movie was approved by the Central Board of Film Certification, she asked the police to take action against the promotions of the film, including posters where Amala is seemingly nude or with minimal clothes. She felt the posters could create negative impressions on young minds.

She also allegedly shamed Amala by stating 'she will do anything' for fame and money.  She stated that since she is not from Tamil Nadu, she is not bothered about the state.

On the day of release, however, not this case, but the film’s financial trouble created a mess. Due to the failure to obtain the KDM or Key Delivery Message, a code required to access an encrypted film, the morning shows were cancelled.

Fortunately, the makers managed to put things into place and the film geared up to release from 6 PM onwards.

Amala and the makers it seems heaved a huge sigh of relief with all the issues associated with the movie since day one and shared a poster with the words, “After facing all the curse words, slut-shaming, character assassination, misogyny & KDM issues, releasing in 700+ screens worldwide.”
