‘Lady Superstar’ is a tag that very few manage, especially in the male-dominated South film industry and with her latest release ‘Airaa’, Nayanthara proves once again why she deserves this title.
After receiving critical acclaim and success for films resting largely on her shoulders, ‘Aramm’ in 2017 and ‘Kolamavu Kokila’ last year, the actress is back with another movie where the story wholly revolves around her. And this time, her character is dealing with the paranormal.
The teaser of the movie 'Airaa' was released on Saturday and it seems like an intriguing horror thriller. The video sees Nayanthara’s character in childhood, teenage and her youth.
The house she lives is haunted, the door closes on its own, there’s a bruised hand reaching for the feet out of nowhere and a butterfly landing on her face in the dead of the night doesn’t seem a pleasant sight. From recording the activities in the house to arranging CCTV cameras to note the paranormal happenings in the house, she wants to get to the root of the problem.
The back-story, which is crucial in a horror film, seems to revolve a romance in school which didn't have a happy ending. From the lines in the movie and visuals, it seems oppression on her mother in the village where there is a preference for the male child, has a part to play for the chaos. From a school student to bridal look, the actress is seen in multiple get-ups and it only raises the anticipation for the movie.

‘Airaa’ also stars Kalaiyarasan and Yogi Babu and is directed by Sarjun KM.
Apart from 'Airaa', Nayanthara will also star in three more movies, 'Viswasam', 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy' and Vijay's next.
