CONFIRMED: Rajinikanth to share screen space with Nayanthara for AR Murugadoss' ‘Thalaivar 167’, first look to be out tomorrow

Two stars, who are on a roll currently in their professional career, are set to come together for AR Murugadoss’ next film.  Rajinikanth and Nayanthara are all set to collaborate for the superstar’s 167th movie, being called 'Thalaivar 167' for now. The first look will be unveiled on Tuesday.

Speculation was rife about Nayanthara being the lead actress opposite Rajinikanth, and the reports were confirmed on Monday with the latter’s publicist Riaz Ahmed tweeting that only Nayanthara has been confirmed till now amid intense speculation. He also asked the members of the media fraternity to not spread any further rumours on the movie till the official announcement is made. 

There are reports doing the rounds that Keerthy Suresh is also a part of the movie, and it’s not clear if the clarification was over this. Nevertheless, production house Lyca Productions announced that the first look of the movie will be unveiled on Tuesday. 

Amid plans for a politicial foray, Rajinikanth is doing back-to-back movies and tasting success with it too as one saw with ‘2.0’ last year and ‘Petta’ earlier this year. 

Nayanthara, too, is in a super busy phase right now, doing solo-starrers like ‘Airaa’ on one hand and movies with the big superstars on the other. After working with Ajith in ‘Viswasam’, she now has three films, ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ with Chiranjeevi apart from movies with Vijay and now Rajinikanth. 

Rajinikanth-Nayanthara have worked together in movies like ‘Chandramukhi’, ‘Sivaji’, ‘Kuselan’, 'Kathanayakudu', but none of them were solo lead actress roles for the latter and some were even cameos.

Previously, snaps from the look test had gone viral, after which Rajinikanth fans urged netizens to not share it. It is being reported that the superstar is playing a cop in the movie. According to reports, the shooting is set to commence shooting this week.
