Hansika Motwani has broken her silence after her private pictures were leaked and Twitter account hacked recently. The actress called the incident ‘extremely disheartening’ and slammed those who stated it was a ‘publicity stunt’ and those who said it wasn’t a ‘big deal’ as she has done bikini shoots before.
News of the leak of Hansika's pictures had gone viral, after which the actress has taken to Twitter to announce that her phone and Twitter account were hacked and asked fans not to respond to random messages as her back end team is working on bringing things to normalcy.
In a recent interview with a daily, the ‘Puli’ star stated that she noticed ‘something was wrong’ with her phone when she visited the United States of America a few weeks ago. However, the news of the leak of her private pictures and information came as a ‘huge shock’ to her. She realised her Twitter account was also hacked and she informed her technical team about it.
The actress called the entire incident ‘extremely disheartening’. The ‘Aap Kaa Surroor' star stated that while facing the embarrassment of the leak was ‘bad enough’, the comments further shaming her were ‘really hurtful.’ She stated people had the gall to say that it wasn’t a ‘big deal’ considering she has done bikini shots in the past, but she asserted that it was a big deal.
The 27-year-old clarified that some of the photographs were morphed, so it was not her pictures. Moreover, if she did a bikini shot for a film or a magazine, she was doing it out of choice, but leaking her pictures without her consent were two different things. She clarified that the pictures weren’t recent, but ones that were taken four years ago.
Hansika called the incident a ‘clear violation of my privacy’ and wondered if it was the price she had to pay for being a public figure. However, amid the chaos, the actress was pleased with the support coming her way, notably her fans starting the hashtag #IStandByHansika and others joining in and said it definitely helped her.
There has been a section of netizens which called it a ‘publicity stunt.’ Reacting to the same, the ‘Villain’ star stated that she doesn’t seek attention from anyone. She added that she has always maintained a ‘low profile’ in her career, something that was evident in the manner of her social media conduct and something she was as a person.
Hansika shot back at people ‘sitting in the corner of their room’ who think it was a publicity stunt by saying that they don’t even deserve her reaction and that she feels sorry for them.
On planning legal action for the incident, she shared that a team of 20 technicians are taking care of her phone and social media accounts and are currently in the process to find the perpetrator. The actress concluded by stating that she’s sure ‘God will punish them for their deeds.’
