Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya Akkineni have been among the power couples in South film industry and arguably the most popular among the current lot. However, the pair didn’t have the smoothest of time together to reach the ‘common point’ before tying the knot in 2017. The actress has revealed that the couple took eight years to be at the 'same space' in their relationship.
In a recent appearance on a chat show, Samantha opened up on the relationship with her husband and co-star of numerous movies. The ‘Eega’ star stated that it took them eight years to be at the same point as there were times she ‘liked him’, but he was not in the 'same space'. Moreover, she added there were times when both were ready but external factors played spoilsport before eventually, everything fell into place.
With Samantha speaking about the eight-year journey, one can say that sparks had started flying between the couple when they worked on their first film together, ‘Ye Maaya Chesave' around 2009-10. However, something significant developed only five years later when they worked on movies like 'Manam' and 'Autonagar Surya' in 2014.
The couple had revealed that it was only at the end of 2015 that they started dating, and it took them two more years to tie the knot.
As Samatha-Naga Chaintanya gear up for their fifth film together (after ‘Mahanati’) ‘Majili’, this interesting revelation would make their fans thank their favourite couple for taking the relationship to the finishing line despite the hurdles.
