‘KGF: Chapter 1’ has been making all the right noises since the release of the trailer, but the task of creating the promising visual spectacle was not easy. In a making video, the lead actor Yash gives us a sneak-peek into the troubles they faced and the heroes who helped overcome it.

“KGF is not about Yash. It is not just Yash’s film, I’m just the face of it, but there are many more heroes in this film," said the Kannada star.

“The ambition of the person is to conquer the world. I call it the vision and the mission. It’s not just a movie because for us to achieve something like this was not an ordinary thing.”

The actor also revealed that most of the shooting took place on sets. After hunting for many locations, they eventually shot at the real Kolar Gold Fields. Yash added that they were dissuaded from shooting at the location as cyanide was used for extraction which could have side-effects. Nevertheless, he called the geography of the area ‘unique.’

He lauded the art director Shivakumar for the creation of sets, director of photography Bhuvan Gowda for the efforts to ensure the right light, for which they would shoot early morning. The actor stated that the VFX use was not excessive, and it was done for extensions or to hide the visuals of the city.

Yash added that they were supposed to be barefoot for the shoots, a tough task considering that even pouring water couldn't ease it for the cast and crew. Two minutes was the maximum that they could stand before running away for relief. The rains also made it difficult for the team to travel to the location.

“We knew we are making something big so all of us were motivated. We didn’t let it go.

“I would ask people who come to the theatres to come with a very fresh mind because this cinema is a little different from regular cinema and that was our intention. I should thank Prashant Neel (director) who has created this world for all of us. KGF was one script where I felt this will definitely entertain people.”
