Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy trailer: Chiranjeevi is on fire as warrior

The 1857 freedom movement is often termed as the first Independence War fought by the Indians against the British, but ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ is all set to bring on screen a story before that. ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’, based on the story of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, who had raised his voice and anger against the Britishers more than a decade before the 1857 freedom movement. Telugu veteran Chiranjeevi plays the titular character in this movie, and the buzz has been intense with the impressive star cast also featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vijay Sethupathi and Sudeep. The trailer, that was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday, promised a grand and well-executed action extravanganza of the historic event.

The trailer starts with the voice of Amitabh Bachchan introducing Narasimha Reddy as an extraordinary person. How he was born with a purpose and no force can defeat him, the heavy baritone announced. The villagers then term him as a ‘warrior’ and even bravely took on the bullets of the Britishers as Narasimha Reddy refuses to pay taxes to the Britishers and takes up on. Kannada star Sudeep’s character Avuku Raju and Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi’s character Raja Pandi Nadar then join his movement.

‘Lady Superstar’ Nayanthara as Narasimha Reddy’s wife Siddhamma offers full support to Narasimha Reddy, while ‘Baahubali’ star Tamannaah Bhatia as Lakshmi plays one of the other crucial roles in the movie.

Chiranjeevi will give you goosebumps with his energetic lines like ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ at the gallows or ‘Get out from my motherland’ in the court. He is equally impressive riding the horse or killing the enemies with a sword or with his bare hands. 

The effort in terms of the picturisation of the action sequences, explosions and other scenes comes out effectively, if the trailer is anything to go by.

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy  

‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ is directed by Surender Reddy and is produced by Chiranjeevi’s son and Telugu star Ram Charan. The film is slated to hit the theatres on October 2 and will clash with Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff’s ‘War.’ The film also stars Ravi Kishan, Jagapathy Babu, Anushka Shetty (in a brief role), among others. The music has been given by Amit Trivedi.
