Kajal Aggarwal plays the lead in the Tamil remake ‘Paris Paris’, Tamannaah Bhatia in Telugu film ‘That is Mahalakshmi’, Manjima Mohan in Malayalam version ‘Zam Zam’ and Parul Yadav in Kannada remake ‘Butterfly’.

The teasers are not exactly similar, but there are a lot of similarities like the protagonists being dressed in a sweater, wedding song, mugging incident, visuals of the Eiffel Tower, which are common in all the versions.

While the protagonist’s uncontrollable laugh, liberated dance in the club, webcam interaction with the family and shock at sex and kissing are similar, the directors have also given a local flavour at some places. Parul Yadav talking about the Kannada girl or Majima Mohan introducing Kerala as ‘God’s Own Country’ are examples, while the latter being a Muslim protagonist is also a difference.

Varun Shashi Rao plays the character enacted by Rajkummar Rao from the original in the Tamil and Kannada remakes. Sunny Wayne is the lead hero of the Malayalam version, while the teaser of the Telugu version didn’t feature scenes of who Tamannaah is paired opposite.

The character that the protagonist befriends in Paris is played by Elli Avrram in the Tamil and Kannada versions, while Shibani Dandekar steps into the shoes of Lisa Haydon for the other two parts.

The Tamil and Kannada versions are directed Ramesh Aravind while the Malayalam version is directed by Neelakanta. The latter was also a director of ‘That is Mahalakshmi’, but he quit and was reportedly replaced by Prasanth Verma. However, the makers have not credited any director.

All the teasers feature the same song composed by Amit Trivedi, which is not from the original soundtrack of the movie.

Parul is also the co-producer of the four versions, which are produced by Manu Kumaran and the banner is Mediente Films.
