Raghava Lawrence seeks OG star Rajinikanth's blessings ahead of Chandramukhi 2 release

Raghava Lawrence took to his X handle on Tuesday and shared that he visited Rajinikanth’s home to take his blessings before the release of Chandramukhi 2.

Raghava Lawrence‘s next Chandramukhi 2 will be making its theatrical debut on September 28. The film also stars Kangana Ranaut in a major role and is a sequel to the 2005 release Chandramukhi starring Rajinikanth. Ahead of its release, the actor made a point to seek blessing from the original star of the movie.

Raghava Lawrence touches Rajinikanth’s feet 

Raghava took to his X handle on Tuesday and shared that he visited Rajinikanth’s home to take his blessings. The actor shared a montage clip of himself interacting with the Jailer star. He then went on to go on his knees to touch Rajinikanth’s feet. The two stars also shared a hug. 

In the caption, Raghava wrote, “Hi friends and fans, Today I met my Thalaivar and Guru @rajinikanth to wish him for jailer’s blockbuster success and got blessings for #Chandramukhi2 release on September 28th. I’m so happy. Thalaivar is always great. Guruve Saranam.” 

Previously, Raghava had shared he was surprised when he got offered Rajinikanth’s role in Chandramukhi. He also shared the superstar gave him many valuable suggestions on how to play the role. The Pandi actor added that he never had any thoughts about being compared to Rajinikanth for his performance, adding that he just wanted to do justice to the role.

What is the storyline of Chandramukhi 2?

Kangana Ranaut plays the titular role in Chandramukhi 2. Her character is a dancer in the royal court, celebrated for her unparalleled beauty and dance prowess. Raghava Lawrence plays the role of both the present-day Vettiyan as well as the old King of the past.

Marking the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi, the film is set to release in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada on September 28.
