Bigg Boss 13: Koena Mitra shares details of her troubled relationship

While names from the Television industry dominated the list of this season’s Bigg Boss, Koena Mitra was the one known face primarily from Bollywood. The actor might not have been seen on the big screen of late, but she was always in the news because of her opinions on Twitter. Considering these factors, Koena Mitra would definitely be one of the strong contenders to win the show after three months. As she completes her first week in the house, one of the highlights was when she opened up on the relationship with her ex-boyfriend, recalling his abusive treatment to her.

Koena on her relationship 

On Friday, Koena shared the details of the relationship with her ex-boyfriend from Turkey when she was talking to her housemates Siddharth Shukla and Daljiet Kaur. They had asked her if she was in a relationship at the moment. She revealed that her ex was extremely ‘possessive’, and that he’d lock her up in the bathroom of her house, so that she doesn’t head out for work. The actor also informed that he insisted she meets his parents in Turkey and wanted her to marry him and live with him in Turkey. Once he even joked that after marriage, he’d burn her passport so that she doesn’t leave Turkey, Koena revealed, but despite it being said in jest, she was alarmed. She, however, did not name him. Koena Mitra also stated that they broke up after a few years, but she didn’t ‘dare date anyone’ for some years, after that experience.

Koena Mitra is one of the contestants who is nominated in the first week of Bigg Boss. Along with her, Rashami Desai, Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Shefali Bagga and Dalljiet Kaur are also under threat to be evicted from the house during ‘Weekend ka Vaar’ to be hosted by Salman Khan on the weekends.

Before Bigg Boss, Koena had made headlines for her comments on the recent remake of her hit track Saki Saki from Musafir, that had made her known as the ‘Saki Saki Girl’; she had termed the recreation in Batla House a ‘mess’. Apart from Saki Saki and Musafir, Koena is known for her work in films like Apna Sapna Money Money and Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena. Another TV show that she participated in was Jhalak Dikhlaa Ja in 2009.
