1. Time's Arrow (Season 4)

Considered by critics and fans to be one of the best episodes of the entire show, the episode's focus is on BoJack Horseman's mother, Beatrice. Narrated in a non-linear fashion, Time's Arrow takes place in 1963, when a young and spirited Beatrice first meets BoJack's father, Butterscotch Horseman. The episode focused on her life, where she is bullied by schoolmates and her toxic relationship with Butterscotch. The audience got to see how her past influenced Beatrice's role as a mother to BoJack.

2. Free Churro (Season 5)

Another classic episode of the show, Free Churro deals with BoJack's eulogy at his mother's funeral. The entire episode takes place at his mother's funeral. Fans were deeply moved by BoJack's heartening monologue for his deceased mother, in which he talks about his fractured relationship with his mother, in classic BoJack style. The episode is rated second on IMDb's list of the best episodes of BoJack Horseman.
