Stand-up comedian Hasan Minhaj's recent clip from his show 'Patriot Act' hasn't gone down well with Bollywood actor Anupam Kher. The actor reacted to Minhaj's statements on Kashmir and Article 370.
Kher took to his Twitter handle and said that he enjoys his act but also shared a video from 2016 where he spoke about Kashmiri Pandits and asked Minhaj to see another side and truth about the valley. He wrote: “Dear @hasanminhaj !! I enjoy your act. Feel happy that an India born is capturing great audiences. Saw your latest clip & concern about Kashmir. Would love you to see another truth about #Kashmir. This is in Hindi. Hope you understand it. Thanks.”
For the unitiated, Hasan Minhaj in his video says, "On India’s Independence Day, I’m thinking about the people of Kashmir, who are fighting for their own independence. Kashmir has been this... they’ve been in this custody battle between India and Pakistan. They’ve been this political pawn used by both countries and I really think on this Independence Day, we should think about the people of Kashmir. The eight million-plus people that live there."
For those unaware, the fourth season of "Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj" streamed on Netflix on August 4. According to Variety, the show follows the Indian-American-Muslim comic taking on the modern cultural and political landscape.
