After Trisha Krishnan, this noted actor joins Tovino Thomas' Identity

Actor Tovino Thomas took to his social media handle earlier today to announce an addition to the cast of his upcoming film Identity. The Minnal Murali star shared a special poster to inform the same. Identity is directed by filmmakers Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, who had earlier directed Thomas in the 2020-film Forensic.

Tovino Thomas on Vinay Rai's casting

While sharing the said poster, Thomas declared that actor Vinay Rai is now a part of the film. The poster featured Vinay Rai’s picture, with "Proudly enlisting Vinay Rai" written under it. While the makers haven’t publicly announced anything about the film’s plot, the poster suggests that the upcoming movie will revolve around the lives of army personnel.

Meanwhile, director Akhil Paul made a separate post, stating why Vinay Rai’s casting was integral to the film. He posted, “When considering a character that has equal standing to @tovinothomas in this movie, we needed someone with an extraordinary vibe and swag. That's why the name Vinay Rai was not a choice, but an automatic fit. We are absolutely thrilled to finally have you on board to portray this vision!”

Thomas and Rai apart, Identity also stars Trisha Krishnan. The same was announced by Thomas a few weeks ago. In his post about the Ponniyin Selvan actress joining the film, he wrote, “Excited to join hands for an amazing movie together!! Gear up for an unforgettable ride, guys!”

Tovino Thomas to be seen in a period drama next

A few weeks ago, Tovino Thomas made a separate post stating that there will be a special announcement about Identity on September 23. Now that Vinay Rai’s casting decision has been made public, it remains to be seen what other surprises the makers have for fans.

Besides Identity, Tovino Thomas has two other films coming up - the period drama Ajayante Randam Moshanam and Adrishya Jalakangal, where he co-stars with The Great Indian Kitchen fame Nimisha Sajayan.
