Pushpa: The Rule makers recently shared the official announcement about their film’s release date. On Monday, the producers informed that the much-awaited sequel starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil will release on August 15. But what further piqued the fans’ interest was the poster that the makers attached to their announcement post.
3 things you need to know:
- Pushpa: The Rise released in December 2021 and was a massive box office success globally.
- Allu Arjun won a National Award for his performance in the first installment of Pushpa franchise.
- Pushpa: The Rule will reportedly clash with films with Singham Again and Indian 2 on I-Day 2024.
What does the long fingernail mean?
The new teaser poster was a close shot of Allu Arjun’s left hand. While Allu Arjun as Pushpa could be seen wearing heavily-embedded rings on three of his fingers, a more striking feature of the image is the pinky fingernail, painted in pink.
But the significance of Pushpa’s painted pinky nail goes reportedly beyond a striking visual. It is belief in many cultures that a colored pinky nail symbolises an elevation in social status, where one becomes exempt from manual labour and attains a powerful position in society.
