Arshad Warsi has invited wrath from a section of celebs from Indian cinema owing to his "joker" remark on Prabhas' performance in Kalki 2898 AD. However, in the same interview, he also alleged being underpaid for choreographing in the 1993 movie Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, produced by Boney Kapoor. Now the producer has reacted to the claims of receiving Rs 25,000 less than the total amount.

At that time, he was not a star: Boney Kapoor

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Boney Kapoor stated that he was laughing after reading Arshad Warsi's statement about receiving less remuneration. He laughed thinking that the Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. actor took three decades to bring up this incident. Offering a clarification, Kapoor said that the shoot happened in 1992 and at that time he was not a star. So how the makers would have paid him a huge amount?

He continued that they initially believed that it would take them four days to complete the choreography but the song director Pankaj Parashar finished the shooting in just three days. Kapoor claimed that for this Arshad received Rs 75,000 with a per-day payment of Rs 25,000 for three-day choreography.

Boney Kapoor, who has worked with Arshad on a TV show, shared that the actor never discussed this matter during those times. The producer called himself a "soft target" and said, "everybody wants media attention now."

What did Arshad Warsi claim?

In an interview with Samdish Bhatia, Arshad claimed that he was promised Rs 1 lakh for the four-day shoot, but he was handed Rs 75,000. “The production guy requested me to finish the song sooner, because shooting for four days would increase costs. We worked very hard to get the song done, but we finished in three days. I thought that the production would be happy. I went to get my cheque, and they gave me Rs 75,000. I said, ‘I just saved you an entire day’s shoot, you should pay me more!’ He said, ‘No, for four days it’s Rs 1 lakh, and for three days it’s Rs 75,000’," Arshad recalled.
