Ayushmann Khurrana Is A New 'Fit India' Icon For PM Modi's Fit India Movement, Actor Talks About Impact Of Physical Health

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has been named as the Fit India icon by Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya at the Fit India Movement’s inaugural ceremony in New Delhi. The event was held on Sunday, ie, March 16 in Delhi. With this, the actor has now become the part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's Fit India movement.

This movement aims to make fitness an integral part of daily life in India and to promote physical fitness as a fundamental aspect of our everyday lifestyle. It is dedicated to fostering a culture of fitness through various initiatives and events. Its core objective include promoting fitness as easy, fun and free by showcasing simple and enjoyable ways to incorporate physical activity into daily routines and eliminating barriers to fitness. 

Ayushmann stressed on the importance of good health in daily life. He said, “When your health is good, the challenges in life-whether personal or professional seem manageable. But when your health is compromised. It becomes the only challenge that matters, Good health empowers us to do anything. A healthy individual is capable, confident and resilient, even when the world around the, feels uncertain. Healthy truly is everything. A healthy nation is a wealthy nations. When we are healthy, we are more productive more prosperous and contribute to nation building”.

What's next for Ayushmann Khurrana?

Ayushmann Khurrana was last seen in Dream Girl 2 in 2023. He will next be seen in Maddock’s project titled Thama alongside Rashmika Mandanna . Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui will also feature in the key roles. This film is part of horror universe which includes Stree, Bhediya and Munjya in the franchise. Thama which has been conceptualised by Dinesh Vijan.

The movie will be directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who helmed Munjya, and will be releasing in theatres on Diwali 2025.  Niren Bhatt, the writer of Maddock's most recent hit Stree 2, has penned Thama along with Suresh Mathew and Arun Fulara. Amar Kaushik, the director of Stree 2, will produce the movie along with Vijan. He has also been part of several popular films including Article 15, Subh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, Anek and Bareilly Ki Barfi among others.
