Bad Newz Box Office Day 10: Vicky Kaushal-Triptii Dimri Film Bounces Back On Second Weekend

Bad Newz hit the big screens on July 19. The comedy-drama features Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk sharing screen space for the first time.

Bad Newz hit the big screens on July 19 and has been attracting audiences to houseful theatres ever since. The film features Ammy Virk, Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles and opened to a decent collection. However, the theatrical run of Kalki 2898 AD and the release of Deadpool and Wolverine came in the way of the film's business.

Bad Newz bounces back on weekend 2

Bad Newz opened to a decent ₹8.3 crore in India on day 1. The film continued to hold steady owing to a modest word of mouth. The Vicky Kaushal starrer ended its first-week theatrical run with a positive ₹42.85 crores.

On the second Friday of its release, Bad Newz raked in ₹2.15 crore. The movie registered a growth in business on the following day - second Saturday by collecting ₹3.25 crore. As per early estimates proved by Sacnilk, the film will end its 2-week run at ₹3.32 crore which it earned on Sunday. The film's total stands at ₹51.57 crore, as per the trade tracking site.

Ammy Virk pens a note for Bad Newz co-stars 


Punjabi star Ammy Virk, whose recent release Bad Newz is receiving positive responses, has praised his co-star from the film and fellow Punjabi, Vicky Kaushal. Recently, the actor-singer took to Instagram and shared a series of pictures with Vicky, expressing how he had an absolute blast working with the Sam Bahadur actor. Ammy wrote in the caption: “From rehearsals to red carpets, it’s been a blast with my brother Vicky Kaushal. Lights, camera, and bromance. Couldn’t have asked for better.”

He further mentioned, “Just two Punjabi Munde planning to take over the world! Sharing the screen was an absolute pleasure. Talent ta hai hi, par dil vi bahut vadda veer da. Thank you for the experience, bhaji.” Vicky also shared the post in his Instagram stories and wrote: "Love you Phaaji! Baba sukh rakhe." Bad Newz, which also stars Triptii Dimri, has so far collected Rs 18.55 crore at the domestic box office, becoming the biggest opener of Vicky’s career, surpassing his earlier film Uri. Ammy will next be seen in Khel Khel Mein, also starring Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu. The film is set to arrive in cinemas on August 15, 2024.
