DYK Before Stree, Shraddha-Rajkummar Were Supposed To Feature In Sushant Singh Rajput's Kai Po Che

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao have wreaked havoc at the box office with their latest release Stree 2. Along with the film's plot and writing, audiences have also raved about the chemistry between the two actors, who first appeared together in Stree in 2018. However, the horror comedy was not the first time the actors would have shared screen space. Shraddha was approached for a role in Kai Po Che which was headlined by Sushant Singh Rajput and featured Rao in a pivotal role. 

Shraddha Kapoor was rejected for Kai Po Che!

Appearing for an interview with Mashable India, casting director Mukesh Chhabra called Shraddha Kapoor ‘really hardworking’. He recalled auditioning the Stree hitmaker for several films like Teen Patti and Kai Po Che. The actress ultimately landed a role in Chhichore alongside Sushant Singh Rajput.

Talking about Shraddha's auditions, the casting director told filmmaker Remo D'Souza, “She’s very hard-working. Her first audition for me was for Teen Patti. Then she did a couple of films that didn’t work and there was a downfall. She then auditioned for Kai Po Che! but that didn’t happen. She wasn’t selected.” Eventually, Amrita Puri was featured in Kai Po Che!, a film inspired by Chetan Bhagat's novel The Three Mistakes Of My Life.

Chhichhore clocked 5 years of release on September 7. The film starring the late Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Naveen Polishetty, Tushar Pandey, and Saharsh Shukla, told a heartwarming story of friendship. It was one of the last movies of Sushant Singh Rajput before his untimely death in June 2020. Shraddha Kapoor took to her Instagram account to share a heartfelt post for the film.

Stree 2 actress Shraddha Kapoor posted an unseen video from the Chhichhore film set on Instagram. The clip captures joyful moments from the set. The video features Sushant Singh Rajput, showing Shraddha laughing with him in some shots and celebrating with the Chhichhore team while cutting a cake in others. Accompanying the video, Shraddha penned a heartfelt note, writing, “Woh din bhi kya din the (Those were the days).”
