Boycott Sai Pallavi: Is Ramayana The Reason Behind X Trend Against Amaran Star? Viral Theory Afloat

Ramayana trilogy will also feature Yash and Ranbir Kapoor. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, it is said to be one of Indian cinema's biggest projects to date.

Sai Pallavi has been trending on social media for the past few days after an old video of her resurfaced in which she was heard saying, "People in Pakistan think our army is a terrorist group. But for us, it is them. So, the perspective changes. I don't understand violence.”

Many took this as an insult to the Indian army and called for a boycott of the actress and her movies. Since social media trends are often motivated, a viral theory has been floating simultaneously as to why the boycott trend against Sai Pallavi blew up before the release of her Tamil film Amaran.

Is Bollywood jealous of Sai Pallavi?

While many trolled the Love Story actress for her views on the Indian army, a section of social media users also supported her. Many speculated that Sai Pallavi is part of one of Bollywood's biggest projects - the Ramayana trilogy, co-starring Yash and Ranbir Kapoor - and that could have led to a smear campaign against her on X.

A report in M9 News claimed that one of the Bollywood actresses, who was "jealous" of Sai Pallavi, allegedly hired a PR agency to orchestrate the trend against her and also paid trolls, who have been posting defamatory content about her.

Sai Pallavi's National War Memorial visit invites further trolling

After the controversy over her old comments found a new lease of life, Sai Pallavi posted some pictures from her visit to the National War Memorial, where she paid tribute to Major Mukund Varadarajan AC (P) and Sepoy Vikram Singh SC (P). 

Many commented that it was an attempt at damage control since the release of Amaran could be affected by the negativity around the film's leading actress.
