Crew debuted just one day after Aadujeevitham and clashed with Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire King at the box office. Aadujeevitham, which stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, grossed ₹15 crore in two days. Godzilla X Kong posed a significant challenge to Crew. The film grossed ₹13.80 crore on its opening day. Crew is a notable film in mainstream Hindi cinema because it features no male stars in the lead cast. Kapil Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh play supporting roles in the film. The film is the third biggest opener of the year in Hindi cinema, following Fighter and Shaitaan. Fighter grossed ₹24.6 crore, while Shaitaan made ₹15.21 crore. The film has surpassed Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which debuted at ₹7.02 crore. Meanwhile, the film is the highest opening day grosser for any female-led Hindi film ever. Also, Crew outperformed the last female-led film Thank You For Coming starring Bhumi Pednekar as it earned only ₹0.8 crore on its opening day.
