Dream Girl 2 Box Office Day 9: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer may not cross ₹100 crore mark

Dream Girl 2 hit the big screens on August 25 and has been pulling audiences to theatres since. The Ayushmann Khurrana starrer was off to a decent start at the box office, with the Raksha Bandhan holiday giving the film’s business a boost. The film continues to hold steady at the domestic box office on its second weekend. Can the sequel breach the numbers of the original film?

Ayushmann Khurrana film sees a jump in collection on Saturday 

Dream Girl 2 continues to benefit from the holidays. After slowing down on the first Monday, the movie’s business picked up pace on the following days. However, the numbers saw a dip again on Friday, but the weekend numbers look promising. On its second Saturday, the film earned ₹6 crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk.

The Ayushmann Khurrana starrer’s total business now stands at ₹77.70 crore. Dream Girl 2 has become the actor’s biggest opener, as well as the fourth highest-grossing film of his career. However, the film will have to pick up pace in order to breach the collections of the 2019 film Dream Girl (₹141.3 crore). 

Dream Girl 2 faces Gadar 2 heat 

While Dream Girl 2 continues to do decent numbers at the box office, the film might not be able to breach the ₹100 crore mark. The comedy flick continues to face heat from Gadar 2. On its fourth Saturday, the Sunny Deol starrer also minted ₹6 crore, as per estimates by Sacnilk. This has taken the film’s total to ₹493.65 crore. Dream Girl 2 will also have to face competition from Atlee-directed Jawan, which will be hitting the big screens on September 7.
