Shahid Kapoor's 'Kabir Singh' is off to a flying start as the film has minted over Rs 42 crores on the second day, despite facing criticism from specific audiences. Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter and wrote, "#KabirSingh is unstoppable and unshakeable... Continues its heroic run on Day 2... Scores big numbers, despite #INDvAFG #CWC19 cricket match... Eyes ₹ 70 cr [+/-] weekend... Fantastic trending PAN India... Fri 20.21 cr, Sat 22.71 cr. Total: ₹ 42.92 cr. India biz.".

On the first day, the film had a fantastic opening and minted over Rs 20 crores.

The film which is a Hindi remake of Tamil film 'Arjun Reddy' is helmed by the same director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. It narrates the story of an alcoholic surgeon named Kabir Singh, who has anger management issues. He goes on a self-destructive path after being separated from his ex-lover. Although critics have been raving about the film, netizens have mixed reactions about the remake.
