Gadar 2 star Ameesha Patel to play a cop for the first time in film Hatak?

The grand success of recent Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 has taken the film industry by storm. The Anil Sharma directorial has not only reinstated Sunny Deol’s hold on the audience, but has also revived the career of film’s leading lady Ameesha Patel. Now, if rumours are to be believed, Ameesha Patel will soon be seen in a cop avatar in an upcoming film.

Official announcement for Hatak to be made next week?

The film is tentatively titled Hatak, where Gadar 2 actress will be seen playing a police officer for the first time in her career. Reportedly, the Hatak makers are planning to release an official announcement of their film in the coming few days. The film is reportedly being directed by Ajay Sharmaa, who would be making his directorial debut with this film.

In the last few years, several leading actresses have played cop roles and found a lot of acclaim from both critics and audience alike - like Rani Mukerji in Mardaani and Mardaani 2, Priyanka Chopra in Jai Gangaajal, Tabu in Drishyam and Adah Sharma in Commando. Besides Ameesha, Deepika Padukone too will be seen playing a cop in the upcoming Rohit Shetty movie Singham again.

Ameesha Patel began her career with two blockbusters

Ameesha Patel began her career with two back-to-back blockbusters in the form of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai where she played Hrithik Roshan's love interest and Sunny Deol starrer Gadar, where she played Sakina. However, after a few more films, Ameesha Patel’s career witnessed a decline of sorts and Patel slowly stopped signing movies. But the success of Gadar 2 has clearly proven to be a big factor in reviving Ameesha’s career.

According to media reports, Hatak will go on floors in January 2024 and the makers are planning to wrap the shoot in a single schedule in Rajasthan.
