He claimed that while all other actors were called for dubbing, he was not.
He shared, “When I got the role, it was quite big and then he later chopped off the entire role in the final edit. By then, I had already told the entire world that I was working with Dilip Kumar, Raaj Kumar, and Subhash Ghai. These are big personalities. I had told everybody about it. The shoot was also done.” The actor also claimed that he had a big part in the film. Why was Govind Namdev’s role in Saudagar edited?
In the same conversation, Govind reasoned why his parts in the film were chopped off. He shared that the film was already four-and-a-half-hour-long, which is why some portions in the film needed to be chopped off. He recalled, “Someone suggested to him that you take this character out and he did that. I was in a lot of trauma then.”
The actor further mentioned, that the director never spoke to him about the incident. He further vowed to never work with Subhash Ghai ever again. He added, “I never worked with him again. Neither did he call me, nor did I go to him for any work. If he had, then it would have been nice but I understand people’s limitations as well,” he shared. The actor declared that he will never again collaborate with some directors, putting them on his “blacklist.”
