Janhvi Kapoor remembers mother Sridevi on her first death anniversary with this emotional post

A day before the first death anniversary of legendary Bollywood actress Sridevi, daughter Janhvi Kapoor paid tribute to her mother with an emotional social media post.

Legendary Bollywood actress Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018. A day before her first death anniversary, daughter Janhvi Kapoor paid tribute to her mother with an emotional social media post. She took to Instagram on Saturday, February 23,  and shared a monochrome throwback picture where Sridevi can be seen holding her hands, as she appears to be sitting in her lap. 

Janhvi who was known to be very much close to her mother, captioned the post with a heartfelt message. In the post, she wrote, "My heart will always be heavy. But I’ll always be smiling because it has you in it."

Sridevi, who is considered as one of the most talented, beautiful and successful actors of all time, passed away at the age of 52 in Abu Dhabi last year while she was attending the wedding celebrations of her nephew Mohit Marwah. Her death was termed due to 'accidental drowning' in her hotel bathtub in Dubai. Her ashes were flown to Tamil Nadu and were immersed off the Rameswaram coast. 

The news of her sudden demise came as a shock both to her family and the nation. Several celebrities across domains grieved the loss and paid tribute to the iconic actress.  

Recently, a prayer ceremony was held in Chennai in memory of the departed soul. Apart from the late actress’ husband, film producer Boney Kapoor and brother-in-law and former co-star, Anil Kapoor, Kollywood superstar Ajith was among the attendees. The puja, ahead of Sridevi’s first death anniversary, was reportedly organized at the ‘Chandni’ star’s maternal house in the city.

Meanwhile, Janhvi, the elder daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor made her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar's 'Dhadak' months after her mother's death. The film which also starred actor Ishaan Khattar was a success at the box office. She will be next seen in multi-starrer venture 'Takht' alongside Ranveer Singh and Anil Kapoor, among others.
