Janhvi Kapoor is the latest celebrity to speak out about the escalating entourage costs of Bollywood films, which are seeing budget increases due to unregulated overhead charges. Following the recent failures of big-budgeted films such as Ajay Devgn's Maidaan and the Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff-fronted Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the Hindi film industry is seeing a renewed focus on the exorbitant fees actors charge, as well as the entourage costs, which burden productions. In a recent interview, Janhvi was asked about increased overhead costs, especially because she is a producer's daughter.

Janhvi Kapoor defends actors' entourage cost

With back-to-back failures of big movies, there is a lot of conversation in the industry about actors' fee and the cost of their entourage. Asked about it, Janhvi said it can be managed by having a dialogue with the talent. The actress told PTI, "Our priority is to make a good film, the best way that it can be made and if something is proving to be a burden on the producer's head, I'm sure we'll make a concession."

Farah Khan talks about actors' entourage cost

Previously, director-choreographer Farah Khan called out actors for feeling the need to always travel with at least eight to nine people at their service. Her concern over the practice stemmed from the fact that its financial impact weighed itself heavy on the budget while not contributing to the film in any capacity.

She said, "The change I would like to bring about is that the entourage cost has become too much. An actress comes with nine people, an actor comes with eight people. That is a waste of resources. That cost is nowhere to be seen in the film. That needs to be controlled a bit."
