Kangana Ranaut Wants To Normalise 'Obsessive' Work Culture - Here's Why

Kangana Ranaut has been in the news after she was slapped by a CISF constable at Chandigarh airport owing to her stance on farmer's protest. Since then, numerous celebs have come out in support of the actress and condemned the violent act. The actress made her electoral debut this year and won the 2024 Lok Sabha election from the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh. Now, the actress has said that people should be "obsessed" with work.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the newly elected MP Kangana Ranaut stressed the need to "normalise obsessive work culture". She added that Indians can't afford to be "lazy" as the country is yet to become a developed nation. Kangana re-shared a video clip of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the staffers of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) after he began his third term on Monday. She continued that the concept of weekends was nothing but "Western brainwashing".

In the video, PM Modi can be heard saying, "My every moment is for the country," Modi had said, asserting that he has promised to work round the clock to achieve the goal of India becoming a developed country by 2047." Adding to it, she wrote in the post, “We need to normalise obsessive work culture and stop with the waiting for the weekends and crib about Mondays memes, that's all western brainwashing we are not a developed nation yet."

She concluded by writing, "We can't afford to be bored and lazy at all."

When will Kangana Ranaut's Emergency release?

The actress, who was last seen in Tejas, will be next seen in Emergency. It is a biographical political drama based on the Indian Emergency. Helmed by Ranaut, in the movie she will essay the titular role of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. After several delays, the movie was supposed to release on June 14 but has been postponed indefinitely owing to her political career.
