Kangana Ranaut Was Paid This Whopping Amount For Her Role In 'Manikarnika'?

Kangana Ranaut is the woman of the hour, be it because of her forthcoming film 'Manikarnika' or her statements that turn heads and raises eyebrows. While the actress is having a gala time in the States, reports of her fees for her soon-to-release film has been doing rounds on the internet.

According to reports, Kangana Ranaut is the highest paid female actor in the Indian film industry leaving behind the likes of Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. The actress has allegedly been paid a whopping amount of Rs 14 crore for her lead role in the biopic based on the life of Rani Laxmibai. The film that is set to release on January 25, 2019 sees Kangana as a fierce warrior. Despite all the obstacles faced by the film during the production, the makers released the teaser of the film on October 2. 

Speaking about her experience in an interview post the wrap up party of the film, the actress was quoted saying, "Every film has its own journey, and yes it is true that there were a lot of hurdles at the beginning of the shoot but the team and I have been there for each other and thus were able to  complete the project before schedule' She further added that 'Although it was very accidental, that I became the director of the film in the end but when it happened, I was quite taken aback. However, when I dwelled into it, it was quite an amazing process and so I can say that directing the film was quite a gratifying experience."

The film stars Ankita Lokhande and Jisshu Sengupta apart from Kangana Ranaut. 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' was initially slated to release by the end of 2018. However, the film is now slated to release on January 25, 2019 and will clash with Hrithik Roshan's 'Super 30' at the box office. Meanwhile, the actress has also been vocal on the ongoing movement calling out Vikas Bahl for his misconduct towards her.
