Karwa Chauth 2024 will be celebrated across the nation today October 20. On this day, Hindu and Sikh women observe a fast for the long life of their partners. Traditionally, married women are required to dress up in new clothes, apply mehendi and worship together for the long and healthy life of their spouse. Several Bollywood celebrities too, celebrate the festival. Actresses like Parineeti Chopra, Sonam Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty took to their Instagram account to share photos from their preparation of the day.
Bollywood divas flaunt their Karwa Chauth mehendi
On October 19, Parineeti Chopra arrived in New Delhi for the celebration of Karwa Chauth. The actress tied the knot with Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha in 2023 and moved base for him. The Ishaqzaade actress took to her Instagram account to share a series of photos from her preparation. In a photo, she could be seen flaunting her minimal yet trendy mehendi design. She also shared a glimpse of the decked-up house ahead of the festival.
Sonam Kapoor also took to her Instagram stories to give a sneak peek of her mehendi. Though the actress shared that she does not fast for the festival, she did partake in the festivities by applying henna. What caught social media uses attention in Sonam Kapoor's mehendi was that she wrote the names of her husband- Anand and son - Vayu on her wrists. For the unversed, Sonam's mother Sunita hosts the famous Karwa Chauth party in Mumbai each year with most star-wives and actresses in attendance.
Shilpa Shetty is also gearing up for the big day. The actress shared pictures of her mehendi design, on both her palm and feet. She also shared a glimpse of her sargi thali.
Kiara Advani-Sidharth Malhotra, Pulkit Samrat-Kriti Kharbanda to celebrate Karwa Chauth in Delhi
On October 19, Kiara Advani too, was seen headed to the National Capital. The actress arrived in New Delhi to celebrate her second Karwa Chauth after wedding with Sidharth Malhotra in 2023. The actor's family resides in Delhi and so the couple often celebrate major festivals there.
Pulkit Samrat and Kriti Kharbanda are the latest married couple on the block. The actors tied the knot on March 15 in Goa , earlier this year. They too, arrived in New Delhi to celebrate their first Karwa Chauth as husband and wife.
