Maharagni Teaser Out: Kajol Is Ready For An Epic Battle With Prabhu Deva

Reports have been doing the rounds that Kajol and Prabhu Deva are reuniting for a movie 27 years after Rajiv Menon's Minsaara Kanavu. On Tuesday, the makers confirmed the news by sharing an action-packed teaser of the movie titled Maharagni: Queen of Queens. The movie seemingly stars Kajol in a protagonist role, while the legendary choreographer and actor is in an antagonist role.

Meet Kajol in a never-seen-before avatar

The video opens with Prabhudeva stepping out of a charter plane, and immediately taking down a group of goons. It offers a glimpse of Prabhu Deva's character who seems merciless and vindictive. The action then shifts to Samyuktha Menon, who amidst a high-stakes car chase, shares her quest for revenge. As the teaser continues, Naseeruddin Shah is seen lying in a hospital bed sharing his heartfelt last wish and then emerges Kajol in her Maharagni avatar, exuding power and strength in her never-seen-before role.

The teaser features the actress performing daredevil stunts as she beats the goons single-handedly. As the actress enters the frame, we can hear her saying, "Power mang kai nahi cheen kai lijati hai. The knowledge of Maa Saraswati, the prosperity of Maa Lakshmi and the Katam of Maa Durga. Even after all this, if you have to be afraid, Maha is full to Desi.

The synopsis on the YouTube read, "Get ready for a cinematic thrill ride! Maharagni is an explosive cocktail of intense drama, raw emotions, and mind-blowing action sequences that will leave you on the edge of your seat."

This is the first time, Kajol will be seen performing high-octane stunts in a movie.  The cast also includes Naseeruddin Shah, Samyuktha Menon, Jisshu Sengupta and Aditya Seal.

What else do we know about Maharagni: Queen of Queens?

The first schedule of the movie, helmed by Charan Tej Uppalapati, has been completed. The crew includes G.K. Vishnu as the director of photography, composer Harshavardhan Rameshwar, production designer Saahi Suresh and editor Navin Nooli. The screenplay is by Niranjan Iyengar and Jessica Khurana. The film is produced by Harman Baweja and Venkata Anish Dorigillu under the labels Baweja Studios and E7 Entertainments, respectively.

The director opened up about his experience collaborating with stalwarts like Kajol, Prabhu Deva and Naseerudin Shah. He said, "It has been an exhilarating journey bringing ‘Maharagni – Queen of Queens’ to life in front of the camera." He added that working with  Kajol, Prabhu Deva, Naseer-sir, Samyuktha and Jisshu for his Hindi debut has been a "dream come true" moment. "Each character in the film adds unparalleled depth, and I am eager for the audience to experience this thrilling cinematic ride," he concluded.

Maharagni – Queen of Queens is designed as what is known locally as a pan-India film and will be released in the Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages.
