Manushi Chhillar cast as Sanyogita, steps into the world of Prithiviraj with a puja

Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar was recently signed by Yash Raj Films as the female lead of their upcoming historical film Prithviraj. The film is based on the life and heroism of the fearless and mighty King Prithviraj. It stars superstar Akshay Kumar in and as Prithviraj and Manushi will play the role of the Sanyogita, the love of Prithiviraj’s life. Manushi Chhillar shared a photo of the puja for the movie.

Prithviraj is being directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi who directed the hit television epic Chanakya – based on the life and times of the most influential political strategist of India as well as the multiple award-winning Pinjar. Dwivedi revealed that they auditioned a lot of new and fresh faces for the role of Sanyogita. He said that in Manushi Chhillar they found the same magnetic persona that Sanyogita possessed.

Talking about Manushi Chhillar’s audition, Dwivedi said that she auditioned for the role many times. He added that they wanted to be extremely sure about the casting and hence there were multiple auditions. He also stated that Manushi nailed the auditions each time. He revealed while concluding that Manushi Chhillar has been rehearsing six days a week since she was signed and that she is being groomed thoroughly by YRF for the past 9 months. 

Talking about the movie, Manushi Chhillar said that it was an honour to be chosen by a production hose as big as Yash Raj Films. She stated that she is elated about the new chapter in her life and is thrilled about the learnings that her life has taught her. She added that her life has been no short of a dream come true, from Miss India to Miss World and now a huge debut project in Bollywood.

Talking about playing the role of princess Sanyogita she said that she feels that it is a huge responsibility. The princess had a powerful personality and she took all her important decisions by herself. She also added that the life of princess Sanyogita is an important chapter in Indian history and that she hopes that she does justice to the character.
