Munjya was enjoying a great run at the box office until Monday. The movie opened at ₹4.21 crore and witnessed a major rise in the daily collection over the weekend. After minting ₹20.04 crore in its opening weekend, the movie failed to pass Monday's test. The movie stars Sharvari Wagh and Abhay Verma in the lead roles.

Munjya box office collection day 4

The supernatural horror comedy, helmed by Aditya Sarpotdar, witnessed a major dip in the collection on its first weekday. The movie barely managed to earn ₹3.75 crore, as per early estimates reported by Sacnilk. Adding the fourth-day collection, the movie's total now stands at ₹23.79 crore in India. Munjya had an overall 17.05 per cent Hindi occupancy on Monday with the maximum reported in Jaipur (22 per cent).

Munjya has a Bhediya crossover

Munjya is the fourth film of Maddock Supernatural Universe after Stree, Roohi and Bhediya. The recently released horror comedy showed how Munjya is linked to Bhediya starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. Dhawan, on Sunday, took to his Instagram handle to congratulate the Munjya team and revealed his post-credit scene from the movie hinting that Varun's character has a connection with Munjya's character. Sharing the clip, he wrote, "Congratulation to team #MUNJYA for the massive success.#BHEDIYA milna chaiye ga aap se don’t miss the post credit."

Sharvari was quick to respond, "VD!!!! Thank aaaaooooo for adding chaar chand to our #Munjya madness you are the best!!!!"

Meanwhile, Munjya follows the story of the eponymous mythical creature and how he wreaks havoc in the life of Bittu (played by Abhay). It all happens when Bittu, visits his native village and learns a family secret about a vengeful spirit, Munjya, who wants to get married. Now, Bittu must fight to protect himself and his love from Munjya's clutches, leading to a humorously chaotic and terrifying adventure.
