Music Composer Duo Vishal-Sheykhar Wanted KK To Sing All Songs From THIS Hrithik Roshan Starrer

Composer duo Vishal-Sheykhar confessed that they had planned the Fighter album with KK but could not record it due to the singer's untimely death in 2022.

Fighter, headlined by Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, was released in January 2024. The original songs of the movie were composed by the duo Vishal Dadlani and Sheykhar Ravjiani. The music of the film received mixed to positive reviews, mostly due to the misplacements of songs in the film's screenplay. In a resurfaced video the composer duo could be heard saying that the film's album was planned to be sung by KK.

During the promotions of Fighter, Vishal Dadlani confessed that most tracks of the film were composed within a week of script narration. The tracks from the film include a party song Sher Khul Gaye, a romantic track Ishq Jaisa Kuch other emotional songs like Heer Aasmani, Dil Banaane Waaleya, Mitti and Bekaar Dil. In an interview, the composers recalled singer KK being their first choice of vocals for Mitti and Dil Banaane Waaleya.

In a resurfaced video the composer duo could be heard saying, “We actually casted KK for all of our songs in Fighter. We thought let's do a KK album." However, the same could not happen due to the untimely death of KK. Ultimately, Vishal Dadlani and Sheykhar Ravijiani gave their vocals to all songs of the Hrithik Roshan starrer except Heer Aasmani which is sung by B Praak and Dil Banaane Waaleya for which Arijit Singh lent his voice.

Playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, known by his stage name KK passed away on May 31, 2022, hours after his performance at an event in Kolkata. He was later brought to the CMRI hospital, where he was declared dead. His last rites were held in Mumbai on June 2.
