The Gen Z rom-com Nadaaniyan, which marks the debut of Ibrahim Ali Khan, the son of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, has arrived on the streaming medium Netflix. The film revolves around a high schooler Pia Jaisingh (Khushi Kapoor) who pays Arjun Mehta to become her pretend boyfriend, in order to maintain the status quo and get another boy off her back. Throughout the film, the duo navigate through shallow friendships, maintaining relationships in times of social media and managing family expectations.

Social media users who caught the early show of the film took to their X (formerly Twitter) to share their first impressions of the movie. While a few appreciated the movie and heaped praises of Ibrahim Ali Khan's acting, most reviews remained on the negative side. Netizens alleged that the movie is proof of why nepotism is a big debate in Bollywood. For the unversed, Ibrahim is the son of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh while Khushi is the daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. Social media users have largely critiqued the acting skills of the lead actors. The presence of Suniel Shetty, Mahima Chaudhry, Dia Mirza, and Jugal Hansraj have impressed netizens and some even called them ‘the only good thing' in the family.
