OMG 2 Box office Collection Day 14: Akshay Kumar film earns more than RARKPK in 2 weeks

OMG 2 was released on the same day as the Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2. Though Akshay Kumar failed to fare as well as Gadar 2, it has performed well at the box office. At the end of its 2-week run, OMG2’s domestic collection stood at Rs 126.42 crore, as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

OMG 2 continues its dream run 

OMG 2 collected  Rs 85.05 crore in its first week of release. In the second week, the film has collected Rs 41.37. On Thursday, it earned Rs 2.8 crore and ran at the theatre occupancy of 15.48%, as per Sacnilk.

The slow growth in the business of the Akshay Kumar film can be attributed to the mammoth success of Gadar 2. The Sunny Deol starrer gave stiff competition to OMG 2. Gadar 2 has minted Rs 410.10 crore in the same period as OMG 2. The collection of Akshay's film was good considering it faced Sunny's film.

OMG 2 beats Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani's record 

OMG 2 was released a week after Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh starrer got its fair share at the box office and even won critical acclaim. In its second week, RARKPK collected  Rs 47.45 crore, while OMG 2 minted Rs 41.37 crore. However, the total two-week collection showed that OMG 2 had the upper hand. The two-week collection of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was Rs 120.78 crore while OMG 2 minted Rs 126.42 crore.
