Orry Vaishno Devi Drinking Case: FIR Exposes Lies and Delayed Action by Hotel

Orry aka media influencer Orhan Awatramani was booked on March 16 for consuming alcohol and non-vegetarian food on the hotel premises in Vaishno Devi. However, the FIR filed by the Jammu and Kashmir police suggests that the hotel authorities deliberately delayed filing the police complaint. This gave the 29-year-old socialite and his friends plenty of time to cross the J&K border.

Hotel in cahoots with Orry? 

Republic Media Network has learnt that the administration of Marriott Resort & Spa, where Orry and his friends stayed during their Vaishno Devi trip, is seemingly involved in the controversy. As per the Jammu & Kashmir police officials, the hotel was in the know that Orry consumed alcohol on their premises since March 15. However, they brought the matter to police attention only on March 16.

This gave Orry and his friends time to move out of Jammu and Kashmir. The police officials told PTI, “Sensing the gravity of the matter, instructions were issued by Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Paramvir Singh to nab the miscreants and set an example of zero tolerance of any such act at a religious place which can hurt the sentiments of people.” However, this could not be possible since the accused group had escaped town by then.

Hotel's IT manager evades question on Orry drinking case 

Republic also confronted the IT Manager at the Marriott Hotel in Vaishno Devi's base camp in Katra. However, the manager refused to answer any questions in the Orry drinking case and insisted that the General manager would answer all queries.

An FIR is registered at the Katra Police Station against eight people "violating the law of the land" and "hurting the sentiments of people". As per J&K police, “Orhan Awatramani, Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli and Anastasila Arzamaskina consumed liquor on the hotel premises despite being told that alcohol and non-vegetarian food were not allowed inside the property due to its proximity to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.” Orry and the other accused are yet to react in the matter.
