Prabal Gurung's birthday wish for Karan Johar sparks off dating rumours, the filmmaker's reaction clears the air

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar turned 47 years old on Saturday, May 25. To mark the occasion, several Bollywood stars including Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, among others have extended birthday greetings to the actor on social media. However, International designer Prabal Gurung's wish for the filmmaker has sparked off dating rumors.

The Nepalese-American fashion designer who has dressed some of the world's most famous women including Michelle Obama, Demi Moore, and Oprah Winfrey, shared a picture with Karan on Instagram, in which the latter can be seen posing with his arms wrapped around the designer.

Gurung captioned the post saying, "Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya. Happy birthday KJo."

The post grappled several eyeballs as fans speculated whether they are actually dating.

However, Johar seemingly put a full stop to all such speculations by commenting on the picture: "Control yourself bhaiya," alongside a laugh out loud emoji.

Meanwhile, after entertaining us with 'Koffee With Karan', director-producer Karan Johar will now be seen hosting a dating show titled, 'What The Love? With Karan Johar' for Netflix.

On Karan Johar's birthday, Netflix India shared on its official Twitter handle, and wrote, “Happy birthday to the creator of some of the most beautiful romances we've ever seen. Can't wait to write some more with you, @karanjohar. This is probably not how presents work but on the occasion of his birthday, we’ve decided to gift ourselves a dating show hosted by @karanjohar. What The Love? With Karan Johar, coming to Netflix! @BBCStudiosIndia.”

Karan Johar replied to Netflix and wrote: "Where there's chemistry, there's always a way! Can't wait to join the Netflix India family and spread a whole lotta love! @BBCStudiosIndia #BBCStudiosIndia #BBCProduction"
