Preity Zinta is all set to return to the big screen after a brief hiatus. The actress will make her comeback with the action flick Lahore 1947. She took to her Instagram account to share a video from the movie set and called the film the ‘toughest’ yet.

Preity Zinta calls Lahore 1947 the ‘toughest’ film of her career

On May 31, Preity Zinta took to her Instagram account to announce the wrap of her parts in Lahore 1947. Zinta, who stars alongside Sunny Deol in Lahore 1947, shared a video montage of the pictures from the film set. Along with the video, she penned a note for the cast and crew of the movie. 

"It's a wrap on Lahore 1947 and I couldn't be more grateful to the entire cast and crew for such an incredible experience. I sincerely hope all of you appreciate and enjoy this film as much as we did making it. It's definitely the toughest film I have worked on," she captioned her post. She also expressed gratitude to the cast and crew, including co-star Shabana Azmi, cinematographer Santosh Sivan and music composer AR Rahman. "Full marks to everyone for all their hard work & patience during the last couple of months. Thank you Raj ji, Aamir, Sunny, Shabana ji, Santosh Sivan and AR Rahman from the bottom of my heart. Loads of love always," Zinta added.

Is the update about the Lahore: 1947 release date true?

According to Bollywood Hungama, the makers of Lahore: 1947 are planning to wrap up the film by June this year. A source told the media portal that the Sunny Deol starrer film is currently being shot in a studio in Mumbai, and massive sets of the yesteryear era are being recreated. The film will need minimal VFX as the makers are focusing on "real drama and action".  As Lahore: 1947 is a patriotic movie and showcases a man's love for India, the makers have decided to release it on Republic Day 2025.

The source also claimed that Aamir Khan would appear in the movie as a cameo. "Lahore: 1947 will most likely be Sunny Deol’s next on the big screen after the historic success of Gadar 2. Aamir Khan also has a cameo appearance in the film,” the source told the portal.
