Rajkummar Rao Reveals Resuming Newton Shoot After Mother's Last Rites

Rajkummar Rao is currently in the headlines for all the right reasons after a string of successful films. The actor who has delivered brilliant performances including Badhaai Do, Monica, O My Darling, Bhediya, Stree 2 and Mr & Mrs Mahi among others. The actor recently opened up about one of the challenging phase in his life while filming for Newton.

In a conversation with Samdish Bhatia on the podcast Mauj Masti, Rajkummar Rao shared that Patralekhaa was the one who called to deliver the heartbreaking news  and how he was back on the sets of Newton after performing mother’s last rites.

He said, ““I went back to the set and I thought that I would manage; I am strong, but I could not. Phatt jati hai yaar. Mein ro raha hota tha continuous, fir mera jo ek best friend hai, Anish, the sound designer, he was also on the set luckily, usne mujhe bohot sambal liya”.

For the unversed, Newton went on to win National Award For Best Feature Film in Hindi and was also nominee for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 90th Academy Awards. The film tells the story of democracy in the jungles of Chhattisgarh .
