Very few know that Sanju actor Ranbir Kapoor was offered a role in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. This is not the first time that Ranbir missed out on an exciting project. Earlier, he had been offered a role in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Here we have revealed the reason why Ranbir Kapoor rejected the film Gully Boy.

Ranbir had to play second fiddle to Ranveer Singh in Gully Boy

The Zoya Akhtar directorial starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt was released on February 14th, 2019. As per reports, Ranbir was offered a role in Zoya Akhtar’s rap saga, but he had declined. According to rumours, the Rockstar actor had to play the second fiddle to Ranveer Singh. Zoya was sure about keeping Ranveer Singh in the lead role and did not want to compromise. However, Ranbir was not ready to play second fiddle and thus rejected the film.

Gully Boy enters the Oscars

Directed by Zoya Akhtar and featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead role, Gully Boy has been nominated at the Oscars. It is the fourth Indian film selected as India’s official entry in the 92nd Oscar Awards. The film collected around Rs 140 crore at the box office. It was the first time Ranveer and Alia worked together on a film. Now the duo is gearing up for their upcoming film, Takht. Directed by Karan Johar, the film will also feature Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Anil Kapoor in lead roles.

Ranbir Kapoor turned 37

One of the youngest actors of Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor is celebrated his 37th birthday recently. This birthday is also special for him as his parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh have finally returned to India. Ranbir started his Bollywood journey with the movie Saawariya (2007) with Sonam Kapoor. He was last seen in the biopic of actor Sanjay Dutt, Sanju.
